Research Paper Topic

Today I will begin researching for my research paper on hackers. I look forward to learning about hackers and what they do. Im not so interested in specific hackers but just what they are capable of doing. Why do hackers do what they do. They must have motive that would cause them do to the destructive things they do. I think it would also be cool to learn about former hackers that went from hacking to working for the company.
